Why we love WaveRunners!

Getting speedy on the water with friends or family is such a fantastic way to spend any holiday or weekend. If you’re considering investing in a WaveRunner, don’t assume that you’ll be limited to simple exploratory trips out on the water, there’s heaps of fun and adventurous activities you can use them for.

Exploring

Exploration is one of the most traditional ways to use a WaveRunner. Take a journey on the water to somewhere new. Your personal watercraft may be smaller than a boat, but that’s ok – they are easily manoeuvred and operated and have high-speed capabilities. Take a slow relaxing cruise, or an exhilarating, high-adrenalin joyride! You can also swap between those two options as it suits you – that’s freedom.

Fishing

Love fishing? Good news, you don’t need a big boat to get out on the water and fish. A Jet Ski is the perfect travel option for your next fishing trip. Smaller, and with great power and manoeuvrability, you can get to where the fish are biting in no time. Whether on a lake, in coastal or deep-sea waters, a WaveRunner has you covered.

Watersports

For the thrill-seekers, WaveRunners and Jet Skis still give you the watersport option. You can water ski, wake board or tube from the back of your smaller vessel. WaveRunners are typically more affordable than boats, so you don’t have to miss out on riding the waves due to budget. The simpler operation and ability to easily change from fresh to salt water are also among the many advantages of choosing a personal watercraft. Though speeds may not reach the same levels, a two to three seat WaveRunner is more than capable of towing a single rider.

Of course, riding a WaveRunner (or jetski) is great fun, but it’s important to make a few safety notes as well:

  • Always wear a life jacket
  • Never operate a WaveRunner under the influence of drugs or alcohol
  • Don’t over-do it on the speed (especially if you’re new to driving)
  • Be spatially aware and keep clear of the shore and other vessels
  • Have your WaveRunner regularly maintained and serviced

In NSW, to drive a WaveRunner, you’re required to hold a Personal Watercraft Licence. Also, make sure you check that Jet Skis are allowed in the waterways that you’re using.

Once all the safety aspects in check, enjoy your WaveRunner the way you want to. If you’re looking to purchase a WaveRunner, come and see the friendly, experienced team at Terrace Boating – we can help you find the right fit.
